Our School

Athletics

The athletic program at Rothesay Netherwood School is designed to accommodate every student and is an integral part of the daily routine.  We encourage all students to develop a healthy, active lifestyle and expect them to participate in physical activity for at least one hour every day. Students from grades 6 through 10 also participate in Physical & Health Education classes every other day for 85 minutes.

Our school offers a wide range of sports in both individual and team environments. We have a wide-range of co-curricular activities that are non-competitive but physically demanding for the students who wish to be involved. Each student is encouraged to participate in a variety of different sports in order to gain an understanding of the nature of sport.

Our competitive teams, the RNS Riverhawks, represent our school in the Canadian Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) championships, the Atlantic Conference of Independent Schools (ACIS) league, the New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association (NBIAA), and also in our local Middle School league.

For sports schedules, please visit our Online Athletics Calendar on our school portal. We encourage parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends of the school to come out to the games and cheer on our student athletes.

There are three distinct athletic terms and all students will compete on one team per term. The following links list all of the teams that we are offering during the 2009-2010 school year. We are always trying to ensure that there is a place for all students and therefore this list may change slightly during the year.
