June 2009 Closing


The 132nd Closing Ceremonies of Rothesay Netherwood School were held on Saturday, June 20, 2009, when the school graduated 48 young men and women. The Class of 2009 included students from the local area and across Canada, as well as from Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Mexico, Germany, and the United States.

Honoured guests at Rothesay Netherwood School’s Closing Ceremonies included The Right Rev'd Claude Miller, Bishop of Fredericton; The Hon. Rodney Weston, MP - Saint John; The Hon. Mary Schryer, MLA - Quispamsis; Mr. Bill Bishop, Mayor of Rothesay, and Mrs. Sylvia MacVey, Chair of the Board of Governors.

The Head of School, Mr. Paul G. Kitchen, gave his Head's Report outlining the progress of the school in its 132nd year. Mrs. Sylvia MacVey also spoke on behalf of the Board of Governors. Click here to read her speech.

The Valedictory Speech was given by Head Prefects, Vivek Prabhu and Abigail White. The Middle School Report was given by Andrew Johnston (Grade 8); and the Senior School Report was presented by Adrienne Belyea (Grade 11).
