Colin Mackay Library
The Colin Mackay Library provides a welcoming responsive learning environment where students and teachers of RNS work together to become motivated readers and researchers. An emphasis is placed on the appreciation and enjoyment of literature and the motivation of reading for pleasure as well as information.
The Colin Mackay Library is located in the Hibbard Arts & Science Building. It houses a resource collection of approximately 9000 volumes, as well as 34 periodical titles. In addition to having resources available onsite for our students and teachers, the library supplements these resources with a number of online services and databases.
The library is outfitted with a computer, printer and photocopier which are all available for student use. Our facility is part of the campus-wide wireless network which makes it very easy for students to access with their laptops.
Students are encouraged to use the library for study, research and recreational reading. The main objective is to promote reading, provide research support and make the library a resourceful and comfortable learning environment for all the students of Rothesay Netherwood School.
The library is available from 8:30am to 4:30pm each school day. It is also opened in the evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
