The Parents' Guild

Parents, like in every family, play a vital role in the life of our community. Besides investing in our school, they donate their time, knowledge, energy and resources to ensure that their children, our students, receive the best education and experience possible.

The Rothesay Netherwood School Parents' Guild has played a special role in supporting the mission of the school for many years. The Parents' Guild is a volunteer association in which all parents and grandparents are members. It plays a special role in supporting the school through organizing fundraising activities and providing social opportunities and discussion amongst parents, while being able to provide feedback to the school from a very integral point of view.

Proceeds raised through events such as the Spring Art Show and Sale and the Harvest Moon Auction are given to the school to enhance learning resources that will impact as many students as possible. Over the years, the Parents' Guild has donated the climbing wall in the Irving Gymnasium, a rowing shell for the rowing team, a skate sharpener for Memorial Arena, a kiln for the art studio, sports uniforms for the athletics program, instruments for the music department, as well as equipment for the science department and the Théâtre Susan B. Ganong.

Currently, the Parents' Guild is working to complete its pledge to provide a 24-passenger bus to the school for use by travelling sports teams and extra-curricular activities. Each contribution made is substantial and each volunteer is invaluable.

Interested in taking a more active role in the Parents’ Guild? If so, give us a call at the school at (506) 847-8224.
