Rothesay Netherwood School is responding to the increasing availability of technology that can assist in the educational process. The phenomenal change that can be affected in education, however, should occur gradually to ensure that traditional educational standards are met along with the new technology. As a result, although we greet networks and laptops with tremendous enthusiasm, we try to temper it with a realization that it is not a panacea, nor should it be used continually or exclusively.

All students and faculty at RNS use Dell laptop computers. Our school is fully networked with a wireless network, and classrooms are equipped with projectors and Interactive whiteboards. We believe that the laptop program has resulted in a fundamental shift in the process of learning - there is more hands-on or real-world work, more editing skills, more visual learning, more interactive experiences, more student-paced learning, a higher interest level in materials , a greater range of activities available to the teacher and students, and a larger resource set available for research. Students also gain specific skills which are applicable in future employment opportunities.
