COVID-19

RNS Family Chat

How are you doing?
Our world has changed and will continue to change in the coming days, weeks, and months. No one knows exactly what the new normal will look like or how long we will feel the impact caused by the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. However, one thing that will remain constant is that the RNS Community will remain strong, caring, and connected. Just as it has since 1877.

It is essential for all of us to stay in touch with our families and friends during unsettled times, and for us here at Rothesay Netherwood School, we consider you members of our extended RNS family. That’s why we wanted to touch base and let you know that we’re here for you - alumni, students, parents, grandparents, and friends - we are all part of the RNS Community. Whether you’re self isolating, working remotely, practicing physical distancing, studying at home, through technology, we can still easily connect.

Please browse through this page to see how we can stay connected and get through this together! Then, join the conversation using the hashtag #RNS1877cares.
RNS and COVID-19
RNS continues to monitor COVID-19 locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The School remains committed to providing quality learning to our students with faculty working diligently to offer daily remote online learning.

Currently our campus is closed to students, staff and the public. Teachers and Office Staff are working remotely from home. Students are continuing the academic year through the school's online learning portal, "RNS At Home".

Many RNS events have already been postponed. For a complete listing, click the expandable list to the right (this list will be updated regularly as decisions are made).

An archive of all recent school communications in regard to COVID-19 can also be found to the right.

Should you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us at alumni@rns.cc or by calling 506-848-0861.

Keeping Connected with Your RNS Family

Stay Connected. Be Social.

During these challenging times staying in communication with family and friends is very important. With time on our hands, you may want to connect with old classmates. Please feel free to reach out to the RNS Alumni Team at alumni@rns.cc and we will gladly link you up if possible. Over the past few weeks, the RNS Alumni Team have been reaching out to alumni and we find that these calls can brighten days!

Please share your stories of your school days. On one of our recent calls, a Netherwood 'Old Girl' reminisced to us of how Miss Ganong insisted on social distancing at Netherwood during her tenure as Head of School. Upon the girls return to Rothesay, following each holiday, Miss Ganong instructed the girls to be no closer than an arm's length apart to avoid spreading any sickness!

Stories like the above are priceless and an important part of our history and heritage and, sometimes, just a fun way to bring a wee bit of brightness to an otherwise dark day.

Share your stories and memories with us. Email your stories to us at alumni@rns.cc for us to share. Or stay connected with your RNS Community using Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook with a post on your social media feed by including the #RNS1877cares hashtag and/or by tagging us @RNS1877. Hopefully, this will help make the days go by quicker!

RNS Cares

From Netherwood and Rothesay Collegiate days, RNS is known as a community that cares and takes pride in community service. Our students currently provide tens of thousands of community service hours locally.

Now in a time of need, let's take this opportunity to be true global citizens. Help an elderly neighbour by getting groceries, walk their dog, or check in on a friend or family member with a phone call. Drop-off a care package to someone in need, donate to a local food bank, or serve meals at a shelter. Give blood, pick up garbage in your community ... there are so many ways we can all make a difference. And don't forget to share your good deeds with us. Post a photo of yourself being a global citizen and tag #RNS1877cares, or email it to us at alumni@rns.cc

If you are in need of assistance, please email us and we will do our best to find someone in your area to provide help. If you are local and need help please let us know and we will do our best to assist. #inthistogether

Show Us How You Remote

Show us how you are making your remote workspace a bit more blue and green by submitting a photo via social media using the hashtag #RNSAtHome or email it to alumni@rns.cc and we'll post here for you. Let’s show that no matter where we are — RNS is always a part of our lives!
