National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Special RNS Programming
The action of gathering together as a community for a day of learning and reflection is essential for us in the process of understanding the important role we play in social justice. Attire for this day is either Classroom Dress or casual clothing that includes an orange shirt in recognition of the suffering experienced in residential schools. (This is a modification from what appears in the printed calendar – Orange Shirt Day for Indigenous Residential Schools scheduled for Wednesday, September 29th will now take place on Thursday, September 30th.)

Students are welcome to be dropped off at the normal time of 8:15am, although our formal day will begin at 9am in Advisor Groups. Our community will then engage in workshops throughout the morning until 1pm. All students may stay for lunch and spend the afternoon either working on their studies or taking advantage of our recreational facilities. The only co-curricular activities that will occur on this day are scheduled Middle School and NBIAA competitive games, although our recreational and study spaces will remain available until 5:15pm.
