Please Note: Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, RugbyFest 2020 has been cancelled
At RNS, we continue to follow all evidence-based public health policy and best practice from the Government of Canada, the Province of New Brunswick and the local health authorities. We have also been in touch with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer for New Brunswick and the Infectious Disease Department in Saint John. We are also in consultation with our national and international schools associations, as well as the Department of Education in New Brunswick regarding the World Health Organization’s identified global pandemic COVID-19.
After reviewing all of this information and identifying the safety of all players, coaches, officials, volunteer staff and spectators as our highest priority, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel Rugbyfest XXXI scheduled for April 17th-19th, 2020. We are committed to providing each team with a full refund for the registration payments received.
Again, we feel that cancelling the event is the best decision to make in order to protect all players, coaches, officials, support staff and spectators involved.
Since 1989, RugbyFest has been an annual spring tradition at RNS, helping to kick off the high school rugby season in New Brunswick. Schools from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and beyond send forty teams to the RNS campus to compete in the boys’ and girls’ tournament each spring.
RugbyFest is an event sanctioned by the NBIAA, our provincial sport governing body. All participating teams must be on "good standings" with their governing province.
Thank you to all of the teams that participated in RugbyFest 2019. It was a weekend of great sportsmanship and terrific rugby (and lots of rain!). See you next year!
