School Life

Leadership & Service

At Rothesay Netherwood School every student has the opportunity to participate in a variety of leadership initiatives and service opportunities.
SERVICE
On and off campus, service is infused in our school culture. RNS offers a variety of rewarding leadership and service opportunities in local, national, and international communities. Students are encouraged to participate in service to gain knowledge and compassion about the circumstances of others, reinforcing our values of lifelong learning and the development of a greater appreciation for the world around them.

LEADERSHIP
Throughout the school year, all students are provided with the opportunity to develop their leadership skills that will enable them to be successful in whatever path they decide to follow upon graduation.

Leadership Academy
The RNS Leadership Academy is a student-centered program focused on developing individual leaders and providing leadership opportunities for students in Grades 6-12 in an effort to make a positive contribution to our school community. Students participate in monthly workshops covering a variety of topics in leadership, including character, confidence, commitment, composure and team building. The students involved in the program will also be given opportunity to be involved in future leadership conferences and programs associated with CAIS and ACIS. Inspired by the Janseen Leadership Institute, the RNS Leadership Academy is made up of two groups: emerging leaders, where student will learn to lead by example, and veteran leaders, where students will learn to effective vocal leaders. These groups will work through a series of workshops on a variety of topics and come together to organize, plan and execute events to benefit our school community.
