Other Ways to Give

Many companies, corporations and foundations will match their employees' donations to charitable organizations including educational institutions like Rothesay Netherwood School. Most are matched on a 1:1 basis, but many will match on a 2:1, 3:1, or higher basis.

Matching gifts are an important and easy way for an employee to make a donation which will have a larger financial impact than would normally be the case.

Companies match gifts to show their appreciation for quality institutions and to ensure that a supply of educated personnel will continue to be available to them. Through a matching gift program, a company is able to advertise its corporate image at a low cost and complement other support programs without conflict.

To provide a matching gift, obtain a form from your employer's human resources department. The form should then be filled out and forwarded to the RNS Development Office at giving@rns.cc.

Gifts-in-kind

Support for RNS doesn't always come in the form of cash.

Donations of physical assets such as artwork, books, real estate, equipment, or other tangible personal property may also assist the School in supporting its mission. These assets may then be used by an appropriate department or sold and the cash proceeds used.

A tax receipt for the fair market value on the date that the gift is received by the School (to be determined by one or more professional appraisers) will be issued. Note that a gift of professional services doesn't qualify under The Canadian Income Tax Act for a tax receipt.

Donating property

We are able to accept some gifts of land, homes, and properties, but some restrictions do apply.
