MS Intermediate French
This course is designed for students who have done very well in the Core French program and who wish to challenge themselves in a more intensive French atmosphere.  It covers similar content to the Core course, but moves at a faster pace. Various French language structures will be studied to allow students to communicate confidently in French in authentic situations.  Units covered will be determined based on student interest and the needs of the class. MS Advanced French
This course is designed for students with a strong background in French.  Various aspects of the French language will be explored through the study of cultural novels, music, short stories, and geography.  Students will work on the four components of learning a language: listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. As well as communicating effectively through speaking and writing, the students will build on their grammatical skills. Students will be evaluated in a variety of ways and will acquire the type of language designed to express more abstract ideas, and they will also learn to express themselves in situations of debate and discussion.

MS French Literature
This course is intended for students with an extensive French background and is required for French first-language students, but may also be appropriate for students who have excelled in a French Immersion or Advanced French program.  This course has been created to foster an appreciation for, and an interest in, the French language and its various cultures, while providing students with an opportunity to improve their communication skills. Through the study of a variety of works and genres including, but not limited to, poetry, theatre, novels and short stories, students will study the culture of the Francophone world.  A close-reading of the texts and an introduction to literary analysis will be combined with a study of the technical aspects of the language to help the students improve their knowledge and comfort in the French.
