3:15 NBIAA Championship Game

                Rothesay Netherwood School (2) vs. Samuel de Champlain (1)

                                SdeC and RNS met for the 4^th time this year with the AA Soccer Championship on the line.  SdeC won the two regular season match-ups (2-0 and 1-0) but RNS won the game last weekend in the Regional’s (4-1).  On Saturday in the championship game,  Alex Jewett (RNS) opened the scoring at the 15 minute mark with a great shot from just outside the eighteen yard box.  Samuel de Champlain took the game to RNS for the rest of the half.  They were unable to score on a penalty shot but with 10 minutes to go in the half Simon Leger broke through the RNS defense and scored a goal to tie the game 1-1.  The second half was back and forth but RNS was able to break through on a pass from Jin-Young Jung into the eighteen yard box to Dax Bourcier who scored on a bicycle kick.  This is the 2^nd time in 4 years that RNS Varsity Boys Team has won the AA Championship.
