Rothesay Netherwood School (2) vs. Samuel de Champlain (1)

SdeC and RNS met for the 4th time this year with the AA Soccer Championship on the line.  SdeC won the two regular season match-ups (2-0 and 1-0) but RNS won the game last weekend in the Regional’s (4-1).  On Saturday in the championship game,  Alex Jewett (RNS) opened the scoring at the 15 minute mark with a great shot from just outside the eighteen yard box.  Samuel de Champlain took the game to RNS for the rest of the half.  They were unable to score on a penalty shot but with 10 minutes to go in the half Simon Leger broke through the RNS defense and scored a goal to tie the game 1-1.  The second half was back and forth but RNS was able to break through on a pass from Jin-Young Jung into the eighteen yard box to Dax Bourcier who scored on a bicycle kick.  This is the 2nd time in 4 years that RNS Varsity Boys Team has won the AA Championship.
