Varsity Girls Hockey Come Out of Gates with a Victory

Coach Gowan
Liz MacArthur led the scoring for RNS with two goals and two assists as the Rothesay Netherwood School Varsity Girls were victorious in their first Midget AAA game of the season vs the SNB Midget Rockets.  Sam Bujold also found the back of the net twice for RNS, while Brittany Poitras and Ellen Jenkins rounded out the scoring for the Riverhawks.  Olivia Corkum played a solid game on the MacArthur/Bujold line, registering two assists and making her presence known in front of the opponents net.  Jessica Burbine and Brittney Dow were very solid as a defensive pairing and each had an assist in support of the offensive effort.  Jane Henderson got her first victory as a Riverhawk between the pipes, making some great saves under some sustained pressure.  Danielle Ring and Madison Long each scored for the visiting SNB Rockets.  In addition to playing in the NB Midget AAA league, the RNS Varsity Girls Hockey team is also competing in the North American Prep Hockey Association (NAPHA) league.
