Hélène began her career in the hospitality industry in her home town of Stockholm, Sweden, over 35 years ago, and has held senior industry sales positions in Saint John, Toronto, St. Andrews, and Halifax, having worked for Hilton, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, and Destination Halifax. Currently, Hélène works as General Manager, Atlantic Canada at Freeman Audio Visual Canada in Halifax.
Hélène is an active member within the meetings industry. She is the past Chair of the MPI Foundation Canada Council, currently serves on the Board of Business Events Industry Coalition of Canada, CanSPEP Partner Advisory Council, and was VP – Hosting for the Canadian Country Music Association’s Country Music Week eld in Halifax in September, 2015.
Hélène was elected a Governor in 2014; she is a member of the Class of ’78. Hélène lives outside of Halifax in Hammonds Plains, NS.
