Jordan played for the Woodstock Slammers of the Maritime Hockey League, winning a Kent Cup Championship in 2006. After Woodstock, he went on to play NCAA hockey at Potsdam State where he played for four years and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree. Jordan started out his coaching career at the NCAA level as an Assistant Coach with the State University of New York at Canton (SUNY Canton).

During his time at SUNY Canton, Jordan helped lead his team to a 23-2-2 record resulting in an ACHA national tournament appearance and conference regular season and tournament titles. Jordan was a lead instructor at Elite Hockey Training Centers, located at Dartmouth College and Norwich University. These programs were responsible for developing players who move on to the NCAA, Major Junior and Junior A ranks.
