Riverhawks Host Moncton Midget AAA Flyers in Exhibition Contest

Tinisha Daigle opened up the scoring for the Flyers with the only goal of the first period, assisted by Maddy Morrissey and Sarah Bujold. RNS drew even in the second period when Maggie Gray found Elizabeth MacArthur alone in front of the Moncton net. Brittany Poitras fired home a rebound from a MacArthur shot to put the Riverhawks ahead, only to have Madison Swinemer tie the game at 2-2, eight seconds later. Bujold sent the teams into the second intermission, with Moncton ahead 3-2, when she scored on a pass from Amanda Lee. Hayley Reid increased the Flyers lead to 4-2 in the third, off a Bujold rebound. MJ Pelletier found the back of the net on a pass from MacArthur to draw the Riverhawks to within a goal, halfway through the third frame. Daigle put the Flyers up by two, 5-3, when she converted a rebound shot from Marie-Josee LeBlanc. Poitras scored her second goal of the game, with assists to MacArthur and Pelletier to , once again, pull the Riverhawks to within a goal at 5-4. Hayley Hallihan put the game out of reach when she scored with 1:25 remaining in the third, assisted by Jenna Cruikshank, to give the Flyers the 6-4 victory.
