Game 1:
RNS Records 1-0 Victory over Defending
McMaster Division Champs
Brittany Carroll scored an unassisted goal for RNS, on a scramble in front of the Stansted Spartans net after only 19 seconds into the first period, to record what would turn out to be the only goal of the game. The remainder of the game was a defensive struggle, lead by Marlene Boisonnault between the pipes for the Riverhawks, who stopped 23 shots on route to a 1-0 victory.
Game 2:
Varsity Girls Battle Lake Placid’s Northwood Prep
Brittany Carroll scored her second goal in as many games to open the scoring for the Riverhawks early in the first period, with helpers to linemates Brittany Poitras and Chloe Perley. Serena Mendola responded for Northwood as the teams went into the first break tied at 1-1. Megan Christy and Jessica Brennan recorded markers in the second period, as Northwood Prep emerged on top 3-1.
Game 3:
RNS Varsity Girls Hockey Battle Vermont’s Rice Academy to 1-1 Draw
Rice Academy’s A. Mihalicova opened the scoring for Rice Academy early in the first period. Riverhawk’s sniper Chloe Perley dangled a goal past the Rice keeper soon after to send the teams to the first period intermission knotted at one. RNS goalie Brook Paisley stopped 24 shots for RNS, including a Rice penalty shot in the third period, to lead the defensive effort, as the game ended in a one all tie.
